Description
Firmware Release:
This version addresses some minor issues and also includes the previous update that enabled dual-recording to improve playback compatibility on mobile phones.
Also included is Swann’s first automatic updates system. New firmwares will be notified via the on-screen display on the recorder. Downloading and updating can be accomplished directly from the recorder just by clicking on the notification and accepting the new update.
NB: After updating to this firmware you MUST format your NVR’s Hard Disk to enable the new recording format. Failure to do this will prevent the NVR from recording anything from your cameras.
Upgrading the NVR’s Firmware:
1. After downloading the relevant firmware for your NVR, go to your downloads folder to access the file.
2. As the firmware is zipped, you need to extract it first. Before doing that, connect your flash drive to a spare USB port on your computer.
3. For Windows 7 users, do the following – Right-click the file then click “Extract All”. Select your flash drive to extract to then click “Extract”. For Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS X users, do the following – Double-click the file to open it then drag the file to your flash drive.
4. Insert your flash drive to the NVR’s USB port.
5. In Live View mode, right-click the mouse then click “Menu”.
6. Click “System” then “Maintenance”
7. Click “Upgrade” then select the firmware file. Click “Upgrade” then click “OK” to confirm. 8. An hourglass will appear on-screen. When the firmware upgrade has completed, the NVR will reboot automatically.
9. Complete the Setup Wizard as per the quick start guide included with your NVR. Remove your flash drive from the USB port. 10. To support the new remote playback feature, you must format the hard drive (all video events will be removed). In Live View mode, rightclick the mouse to access the Menu Bar then click “Menu”. Click “Device” then click the checkbox next to the hard drive. Click the “Init” button to format the drive then click “OK” to confirm. The hard drive will now format (an hourglass will appear on-screen). When finished, right-click the mouse to exit.
