Added and Modified Features
– [Data Protection]: When bad blocks on the SSD drives exceed an unrecoverable amount on the TS5210DF series TeraStations, the unit now enters data protection mode and the data area becomes read-only. For more detailed information, refer to the user manual of your TeraStation.
– [SSD]: Improved the condition to reach the guaranteed write capacity (TBW) for the drive on the TS5210DF series TeraStations.
Bug Fixes
– [iSCSI]: Fixed a bug where a drive could not be detected if an iSCSI volume was created on the drive that isn’t being used as part of a RAID array while using the “Block I/O” option for “Backstore”.
– [Replication]: Fixed a bug where the same shared folder could be configured as a replication target for multiple replication tasks.
– [Replication]: Fixed a bug where the root shared folder could be configured as a replication target if a subfolder on its shared folder was configured as a replication source.
– [Logs]: Fixed a bug where a link to logs that was created in the shared folder could not be deleted even when the setting was disabled.
– [Settings]: Fixed minor bugs.
Caution:
– Please consult your local technical support representative if you experience any problems caused by this firmware update.
– Do not turn the unit off until the update is finished. It will take several minutes. You will receive a message when the update is finished.
– USB drives are not mounted automatically after a firmware update. To mount them, unplug and then reconnect them.
How to Use the Updater:
1. Connect the TeraStation properly and configure the TeraStation and a computer to run the updater on the same network subnet. The subnet masks should be the same and the first three numbers of the IP addresses should be the same. The last number of the IP addresses should be different.
For example, if the IP address and subnet mask of the computer are
” 192.168.0.10 , 255.255.255.0 “
and the IP address and subnet mask of the TeraStation are
” 192.168.1.150 , 255.255.255.0 “
then the updater will _not_ work properly.
In this case, reconfigure the TeraStation’s IP address and subnet mask to
” 192.168.0.150 , 255.255.255.0 “.
Then they will be on the same subnet and the updater will work properly.
2. Close all applications. Also, stop or exit any firewall software.
3. Extract the downloaded file and run “TSUpdater.exe”. When a TeraStation is detected, an update window will open.
4. Select the TeraStation to update if multiple TeraStation are connected.
5. Click “Update” and enter the TeraStation’s admin password.
6. Click “OK”.
7. Transferring and updating the firmware will start. Wait until it finishes. The info LED will blink during the update.
8. When the update finishes, a message will be displayed.
