Fixes:
– Automatically recover from repeated failed maintenance mode boots and revert to a normal boot;
– Display a ‘You are in RMA mode’ web page when in RMA mode (thanks to Black Hole for the idea);
– Check network connectivity to the package repository during bootstrap and display a more useful error message (thanks to Raydon);
– Upgrade embedded filesystem check and repair utilities to latest version (e2fsprogs 1.42.10);
– Include extundelete utility;
– Fix bug where aliased filesystem format/check utilities didn’t work (noted by Black Hole);
– Automatically remove Sky Player from flash memory if still present (Humax have removed this from newer firmware releases);
– New custom OS kernel with support for:
Large block devices;
EFI Partition tables;
Basic IP filtering (iptables).
– Unified installation image that can safely by applied on top of any existing version, custom or otherwise, in a single step;
– New USB packages available to:
Perform a factory reset;
Force a maintenance mode boot;
Remove all iptables rules (to recover if you lock yourself out).
– Available for the Humax HDR Fox-T2 versions 1.02.20, 1.02.32 and 1.03.12;
– Available for the Humax HD Fox-T2 versions 1.02.20 and 1.02.31.
HINWEIS:
– If your Humax came with software version 1.03.06 or above
– If your Humax arrived running software version 1.03.06 or later then do not downgrade it to an earlier version. It is safe to install the customised firmware based on 1.03.12.
Install Firmware:
– Laden Sie die Firmware herunter and, if it is a zip file, extract it
– Ensure the resulting file is named HDR_FOX_T2_Upgrade.hdf
– Place the file in the root of a FAT32 formatted USB Flash / disk Drive *
– Put the unit into standby using the remote or the central ‘big button’ on the Unit
– Make sure that the unit has completely shut down by listening for the hard drive to power down (accompanied by a click)
– Remove all USB devices
– Plug the USB Flash Device containing the HDF file into a USB port
– Turn on the TV and switch to the Humax input
– Start up the Humax using the big button on the front of the unit (not by using the remote control)
– The software update should begin automatically and the progress shown on the TV screen
– The initial download is very quick and then programming takes 2-3 minutes
– Pauses in the percentage time bar are quite normal
– When the update is complete End will appear on the front display and Success Downloading! will appear on the TV
– Unplug the USB Flash Device containing the HDR_FOX_T2_Upgrade.hdf file
– re-connect any other USB devices e.g. Wi-Fi adadper, Hard disk Drives etc. (ensure that the HDF file is not present)
– Press the big button on the front again to restart with the new firmware
Some USB Flash / Disk Drives are reported not to work, The reason for this is not fully understood, However the following Tips are known to help:
– Ensure no other USB devices are connected
– Do not use a USB extender cable
– Removing all other files / full-formatting can prevent file fragmentation
– Try both USB ports (HDR)
– Smaller capacity drives seem to work more successfully than large ones
– Last Resort, Try a different USB Flash Drive
