Description
For those that bought a Gigabyte motherboard recently, you would have an application in the Installer CD called « @BIOS ». It’s a program that is supposed to update your motherboard BIOS easily. I have tried it a couple of times and I can say that it does make a difference when it comes to updating your BIOS. So I decided to write an article on the correct procedure to update it. Here goes.
* It’s always best to download the newest version from the Gigabyte website because the one that is in your CD may give you more problems than help. (At the moment of writing, the newest version is v1.05). Click HERE to download the latest @BIOS software.
* Copy the program into your Hard drive and start the program. Here is what you will find:
* You will see that the program will detect your motherboard and display all relevant information in the program. Under the title « BIOS Model Version Information », you can see what kind of motherboard you are using at the moment to update its BIOS.
* Check the box that says « Internet Update », if you are updating the BIOS through the website.
* Click on Update New BIOS after that.
A window will pop up showing which server that you want to download from. I decided to go through the first one « Gigabyte @BIOS server 1 in Taiwan ». Click OK after that.
*
It’ll show you the latest available BIOS update for you and if you decide to update the BIOS, just click OK and the program will automatically download the BIOS update and then it’ll prompt you like this:
*
It’ll ask you for confirmation and just choose OK.
*
It’ll update automatically and then it’ll restart your system immediately. There you go, your BIOS is now updated.
