My Brother dcp 1612w printer, is connected to wifi, it had been configured, under windows.
I have since switched to Mint, and I just installed it, following paragraph 4.3 of this:
https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/system-config ... r_partagee
I can print normally, but obviously the scanner does not work, so I inquired, and I plan to install the paragraph of 3.3 and 3.3.2 and 3.4 of that.
For a printer shared in wifi, the Ubuntu doc, warns me that "it's more complicated, but not unbearable, and that I must play from the terminal.
I went to the Brother pages side, and the miracle is much, simpler, I download 3 drivers, and voila

Why such a difference, the guy, who wrote the article on the Ubuntu doc, likes to torture his mind?
Or is this Brother, who is too optimistic, on how to do it?
What are the differences between the 2, are there advantages and disadvantages to the 2 methods?
What do you think?
Is there any 3rd way?
Thanks!
