Lenovo Y530 15-ICH - No sound with new Realtek drivers

Post by meri »

Hello,

I have had a problem with sound for some time that I can't resolve: I no longer have any sound coming out of the speakers of my laptop.

The latest drivers are installed, the sound icon shows that the audio device is working, but no sound comes out. When I plug in headphones, no sound too. By cons, when my PC is connected to HDMI, I have good sound on my TV.

Here are the manipulations that I have already tried:

- Download the latest drivers for my sound card, several times from the Realtek official site, from Lenovo support for my computer, from "All Drivers".

- Uninstall "Realtek speaker" from the device manager: a red cross appears on the sound icon, and after restarting the sound icon returns to normal but still no sound.

- Go to the properties of my sound card and do either "Update the driver" or "Restore the driver": nothing changes.

Surprising thing: when I launch the driver installation, the Realtek software does several things: it uninstalls my old driver, a red cross appears on my sound icon, then quickly the icon becomes normal again and I have sound! But the installer asked me to restart the computer to complete the installation, and after restarting, the sound disappeared.

Do you have a solution for this problem which is very annoying? Thank you :)

p.s. my laptop is a Lenovo Y530 15-ICH.

Hello,

Please check the sound source (open the sound settings -> sound output device) because there may be a conflict between pc and tv
otherwise indicate the reference of the sound card (01 & Fri ..... dev ....).

Regards, Roza.
