IBM THINK PAD R40 Can't find drivers

Post by fedora »

Hello, everyone!
Config is: IBM THINK PAD R40. Intel processor I, 5. IBM 292 3 ESG motherboard.
OS installed XP SP3.
This is a machine that I want to use in case of crash of my LENOVO (main computer)!
Problems: at the beginning in device manager / no sound, but resolved ok.
Some problems (button) on Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, Video Controller, and PCI Modem.
I want to simply establish an INTERNET CONNECTION.
Connected by ethernet cable on my box, the machine looks for and can not find a connection!
I was able to install the PRO / 100VE network card.
I tried everything: intel package / etc ...
Question: How to find the drivers without internet connection. AND do I absolutely need the PCI modem?
I hope it will help many people.
Thank you for your answers.

Hello

Your drivers can be found here: click here (Thinkpads.com)

For the Ethernet connection, from another pc, download this driver to your desktop click here (Thinkpads.com)

Transfer it to 1 USB stick that you will connect to the pc with XP.

Execute the double click.

PS: if you download drivers from those link, look at the OS that is supported (Windows 98/2000 / XP)
